Hair Stalk Gall Wasp (Andricus pedicellatus)
The hair stalk gall wasp (Andricus pedicellatus, formerly Dros pedicellatum) induces tall and incredibly thin galls on the leaf margins of a variety of white oaks. These are spring-generation galls containing both males and females; no unisexual summer generation counterpart has yet been discovered.
