Branched Shanklet (Dendrocollybia racemosa)

At first glance, the branched shanklet (Dendrocollybia racemosa) might look like any other nondescript little brown mushroom, but a closer look at its stipe reveals numerous branches, or conidial pegs. This species is not commonly observed, mostly due to its diminutive size and inconspicuous appearance when viewed from above, and not because it is truly rare. Additional common names include long-branched dendro and branched collybia.
