Bark Bonnet Mushrooms (Mycena corticola)
The bark bonnet (Mycena corticola) is a common mushroom species that is often overlooked due to its diminutive stature. These little fungi appear early in the decomposition process, emerging directly from tree bark opposed to the underlying wood — an important clue for identification.
