White Fairy Lantern (Calochortus albus)

White fairy lantern (Calochortus albus) is an herbaceous perennial that is both native and endemic to California. This beautiful wildflower is also known by several other whimsical names, such as white globe lily, pink fairy lantern, lantern of the fairies, snowy lily-bell, and snow drops. White fairy lantern's showy flowers can be highly variable in color, as demonstrated by the following pictures, but are always fairer and less saturated than those of golden fairy lantern (C. amabilis).
