Sierra Juniper (Juniperus grandis)
Sierra junipers (Juniperus grandis, formerly Juniperus occidentalis var. australis) are known for their beautiful, reddish-brown bark and uniquely gnarled structure. These magnificent trees are also known for their longevity, with some specimens living thousands of years. Sierra junipers tend to thrive in harsh environmental conditions where competition from larger species is minimized.

An illuminated Sierra juniper (Juniperus grandis) adds to the concept of time passage, as these trees are truly ancient, with some specimens living thousands of years.
