Shorthorn Steer's Head (Dicentra pauciflora)
Shorthorn steer's head (Dicentra pauciflora) is perennial herb which is endemic (restricted) to the mountains of California and southwest Oregon. This small, uniquely-shaped wildflower is a close relative of longhorn steer's head (Dicentra uniflora), and is also known as "few-flowered bleeding heart."
