Insect Egg Slime Mold (Leocarpus fragilis)
Insect egg slime mold (Leocarpus fragilis) is a common and widespread species whose fruiting bodies are usually quite conspicuous due to their vibrant yellow or orange color. As the common name suggests, they can superficially resemble insect eggs deposited on forest vegetation and debris.
