Buffalo Treehopper (Ceresa sp.)

Ceresa is a genus of treehoppers commonly referred to as buffalo treehoppers. They are so-named for their profile appearance, which is somewhat reminiscent of the American buffalo. Treehopper nymphs are adorned with several bristly "plumes," which tend to give them a more exotic appearance than their mature counterparts.
