Beaked twig gall wasp (Burnettweldia plumbella)
The galls induced by the beaked twig gall wasp (Burnettweldia plumbella, formerly Disholcaspis plumbella) are among my favorites due to their vibrant red and yellow colors and distinctive shape. A green and yellow variant of this species also occurs with some regularity.
