Red Coral Fungus (Ramaria araiospora)

Behold the red coral fungus (Ramaria araiospora), one of the world's most beautiful mushrooms! This scarlet spectacle makes for a very conspicuous display among the duff of mixed hardwood-conifer forests. There are two varieties: var. araiospora, which has yellow/orange branch tips, and var. rubella, which has red branch tips.
