Purple Toothed Polypore (Trichaptum abietinum)

The purple toothed polypore (Trichaptum abietinum) is a common bracket fungus which graces dead conifer wood with lovely purplish hues. It is also known as the purplepore bracket. T. biforme is similar, but occurs on hardwoods and is rare in California.
