Purple-Edge Bonnet (Mycena purpureofusca)
The purple-edge bonnet (Mycena purpureofusca) is known for its overall purplish tones and marginate gills; the gills are mostly pale, but are adorned with purple edges that provide beautiful contrast. This small but attractive mushroom frequently appears on decaying pinecones. M. haematopus is similar, but bleeds red juice and rarely occurs on cones.
