Fairy Parachutes (Marasmiellus candidus)

Fairy parachutes (Marasmiellus candidus) are small, whitish mushrooms which grow on twigs and other woody debris. These whimsical fungi have short, curvy stipes and widely-spaced gills featuring elaborate cross venation. Despite years of searching, I have yet to find one of these floating down from the sky with a fairy attached ;~)
