Black Witch's Butter (Exidia glandulosa)
Black witch's butter (Exidia glandulosa) is a common wood-rotting jelly fungus with a dark color and tiny warts or bumps. Additional common names include black jelly roll and warty jelly fungus. Exidia nigricans is nearly indistinguishable and may indeed be the species we have in California.
