Silvery Lupine (Lupinus argenteus var. heteranthus)

Silvery lupine (Lupinus argenteus var. heteranthus) is a beautiful member of the pea family and is native to the high-elevation open slopes of western North America. It is just one of over 100 different varieties of lupine in California, and is most easily differentiated by its spurred calyx and absence of wing petal hairs.
