California lady's slipper (Cypripedium californicum) is a rare and endangered orchid species endemic to a small area of northern California and southwestern Oregon. This beautiful wildflower typically grows on stream banks or other wet environments, and is distinguished by its greenish-yellow petals and sepals and bright white labellum or "slipper."
