Pacific Trillium (Trillium ovatum ssp. ovatum)
Pacific trillium (Trillium ovatum ssp. ovatum) is a California-native plant with three large leaf-like bracts, and a single flower with three petals. Its wildflowers are typically white when fresh and turn to pink or various shades of red with age. This species thrives in semi-shaded forests throughout western North America and has a close association with conifers, such as Douglas fir and coast redwood. Additional common names include western wake-robin, western trillium, and Pacific wakerobin.
