Hairy Desert Sunflower (Geraea canescens)

The hairy desert sunflower (Geraea canescens) is an annual herb whose drought resistance makes it an excellent inhabitant of the sandy desert soils of the American southwest. Desert gold is an alternate common name for this precious wildflower.
