Calico Monkeyflower (Diplacus pictus)
The calico monkeyflower (Diplacus pictus) is a rare California endemic wildflower found only in Kern and Tulare counties. Though the flower is quite diminutive, its pattern is absolutely gorgeous and worth a close look. The leaves and lower petal are adorned with glandular hairs, adding even more interest to an already phenomenal plant.
