Beckwith's Violet (Viola beckwithii)
Beckwith's violet (Viola beckwithii), also known as the Great Basin violet, is a showy high-elevation wildflower found throughout western North America. Its upper petals are a vivid maroon, whereas the lower white to lavender petals provide a beautiful contrast. The throat of the flower is brilliant yellow with purple to maroon venation.
