Western Side-Blotched Lizard (Uta stansburiana ssp. elegans)
The western side-blotched lizard (Uta stansburiana ssp. elegans) is a reptile which is native to southwestern North America, and especially common in southern California deserts. Its common name refers to the dark patch on each side of its body, just behind the front legs.
