Common house spider (Parasteatoda tepidariorum)
The common house spider (Parasteatoda tepidariorum) is a frequently encountered cobweb weaver, especially in Southern California. Although this species is non-native, it is known internationally as the American house spider.
A female common house spider (Parasteatoda tepidariorum) guards her egg sacs. Each sac can potentially contain more than 400 eggs. El Dorado Nature Center, Los Angeles County, California.
