Redwood Violet (Viola sempervirens)

Redwood violet (Viola sempervirens) is a common perennial herb which produces bright yellow wildflowers on forest floors across western North America. As the name implies, this plant has a close association with redwood trees. However, it also occurs in the understory of other conifers. Evergreen violet is an alternate common name.
